  • KeepKey has been criticized on /r/keepkey for not enabling passphrase protection for wallets using the default Chrome KeepKey proxy. Just like Trezor the seed is stored in plain text on the unit. The simple addition of enabling passphrase protection adds another layer of security to your KeepKey or Trezor. A thief might steal your seed but it would be worthless without the passphrase. Unless using a passphrase you are better off from a security standpoint just using a $20 Ledger HW.1. Seriously.
