Hashers United is the first ever mining conference in the industry. We made an exclusive interview with one of the owners, Marshall Long. Here is a little summary of his thoughts:
“We feel like the biggest underserved population in the crypto-community is miners. Without the miners, you don’t really have anything. So it’s important that they get facilitated with, and it is also hard to find a place where you can get hands on and meet your peers. We teamed up with Coin Agenda and Bit Angels, Michael Turpin and will do the next conference in the Philippines as well as Hong Kong and London.”
The popularity of Bitcoin is growing steadily. The reasons are, big companies like overstock that are accepting Bitcoin payments and active Bitcoin community that is open to all. For example Belgian Bitcoin enthusiasts who have banded together to create the Belgian Bitcoin Association. It saw the light of day in November of 2013 and also legally registered with the Belgian government. The members are lawyers, businessmen, researchers and the artificial intelligence laboratory of the University of Brussels.
Mr. Thomas Spaas, one of the six members of the board of directors of spoke with us about BBA:
“We are a band of crypto enthusiasts and Bitcoin lovers that are uniting under the common banner of the Belgian Bitcoin Association. One of our main goals is to be a forum where people can get information concerning Crypto. Directly linked with the previous aspect is that we promote and encourage the use of Bitcoin and other crypto by the general public.
When we started up the BBA we all agreed that we would not represent Bitcoin in Belgium. We were approached on multiple occasions by the US Bitcoin Foundation, which we politely declined. Another thing we decided from the beginning was that we would be an educational platform for anyone, as well as keeping the communication going between the BBA and the Belgian government.”
I am a Bitcoin believer, tech geek and entrepreneur. Interested in mining and development, but frustrated about the current market situation on mining hardware.
